PROFFESIONAL EXPERIENCE

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS - Project Control Group

Supervisor I, Capital Outlay - December 1998 - Present

Responsible for maintaining a large Project Management FoxPro application and in charge of developing new applications using Visual FoxPro and other development languages based on a client/server environment.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS – O.I.T. Systems and Programming, Miami, Florida

SYSTEMS ANALYST I – February 1993 to December 1998

Responsible for creating and maintaining complex production jobs that support MDCPS computing user community. Develop new systems and programs using a variety of programming languages and tools, such as Software AG’s ADABAS/Natural, CICS/SQL/COBOLII, AFP, JCL, and Easytrieve. Responsible for the design and implementation of CICS online systems such as VOES (Verification of Employment System), PARS WRITE-IN system. Co-Developed the PERQ (Personnel Inquiry System) system. Developed several systems, such as, TCHR (Teacher Certification Information), LEAV (Leave of Absence), RTMT (Retirement Information) and TRAVEL system using a combination of CICS/SQL/COBOL II and ADABAS/Natural programming languages.

FREELANCE PROGRAMMING ASSIGNMENTS

CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT October 1987 – March 1988

Developed a Document Retrieval Information System for Strategic Capital Management using C and Clipper (DOS/Xbase compiler).

DEVELOPER ASSIGNMENT February 1991 – July 1998

Designed and implemented an Inventory Tracking System for A.D.P. Aviation. Originally this application was written using Clipper for DOS. Recently this application was re-written using Visual Basic and Visual FoxPro.

CONTRACT ASSIGNMNET March 1993 – October 1993

Developed several inventory and purchase orders applications for Enterprise Computer Training and Consulting Company, using FoxPro for Windows, C, and Visual Basic.

DEVELOPER ASSIGGNMENT – September 1993 - December 1994

Co-developed a Medical Management Database System using programming languages such as FoxPro for Windows, C++ and Visual Basic for windows.

CONTRACT ASIGNMENT December 1997 – February 1998.

As part of the development team of Activa Computers, designed, developed and implemented a case tracking system (client/server application) for Leeds and Colby, PA, using Visual FoxPro.

Also, wrote several database applications using Access and Visual Basic

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS – MIS COMPUTER OPERATIONS, Miami, Florida

Computer Operator September 1990 to February 1993

Operated computer consoles in a large mainframe environment. Prepared the computer system for each program using the operating system and monitor all jobs during active data processing. Ensured all computer equipment, supplies, data, and files have been submitted for processing. Verified all computer output is complete and accurate and make programmatic and data input revisions to ensure expeditious error correction. Advised supervisors of hardware or software malfunction and updated equipment and supply utilization records. Occasionally served as shift supervisor in supervisor’s absence and subject to overtime or shift work schedules in order to meet departmental schedules.
